For 2016, Cinco de Mayo falls on Thursday, May 5. Mexican restaurants typically have special Cinco de Mayo deals, freebies, and food/drink promotions on this day. Some stores and shopping malls have Cinco de Mayo sales and offers as well. Discounted, free, or 2-for-1 tacos, enchiladas, burritos, nachos, and special lunch or dinner menus are all common on May 5. Sometimes, these promotions extend the entire Cinco de Mayo Weekend or for several days preceding the holiday.
Cinco de Mayo dining and shopping hours are usually the same as they would be on any other Thursday. The exception would be restaurants which open early for special Cinco de Mayo Brunch or breakfast. Be sure to call your favorite restaurant or store for specific hours as well as information on particular Cinco de Mayo sales and deals they may be offering on May 5.
