Halloween is Monday, October 31, 2016. Although Halloween is a great excuse for a party, it is not a federal or state holiday. This means it’s usually not considered a holiday for the purpose of having special hours of operation. Most restaurants, stores, shopping centers and malls will be open regular hours on Halloween.
Moms especially enjoy the fact that kids eat FREE on Halloween! Applebee’s, Beef ‘O’ Brady’s, Bertucci’s, Bob Evans, Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, Chili’s, Cici’s Pizza, Coco’s Bakery Restaurant, Don Pablo’s, Fuddrucker’s, Genghis Grill, Hometown Buffet, Houlihan’s, IHOP, Krispy Kreme, McAlister’s Deli, Old Country Buffet, Outback Steakhouse, Pollo Tropical, Ryan’s, and Shoney’s are all offering free kids meals at select locations.
Franchise restaurants may or may not be participating. Free food offers are usually restricted to kids in costumes. Purchase of an adult meal is often required in order to receive a free Halloween kids meal. Call to confirm before heading out on October 31. Also, the annual Chipotle $3 “Boorito” burrito tradition will be happening again in 2016.
Even though most places will not have special Halloween shopping hours, don’t think there won’t be plenty of sales and deals! These days, October 31 is a lot more than eating candy and wearing scary costumes! Stores have Halloween sales and/or special promotional deals and events on or around the holiday. Many malls host trick-or-treating and other fun events. Check with your favorite places of business to see who is having the biggest and best specials in your area. Happy Halloween 2016, everyone!
