For 2017, Labor Day happens on Monday, September 4th. Most stores, restaurants, shopping centers, and malls are open on Labor Day. However, they may be operating on holiday schedule with limited or reduced hours of operation. Some businesses are closed on Labor Day in order to give their employees the day off.
