Coming up soon is a holiday that we only see every 1,461 days! Leap Year Day 2016 is Monday, February 29. Leap Year Day is not a legal holiday. Most everything will be open with normal hours of operation. However, it is a great day for deals at your favorite stores and restaurants. Given today’s “challenging” economy, retailers and food vendors are looking for any reason they can find to have sales and special promotions. Some can be quite creative!
The last Leap Year Day was in 2012. Looking back, there were several discounted offers on everything from furniture to Chinese takeout food! Look for sale prices of $29, $2.29, 29 cents, or other amounts ending in “29.” Buy One Get One Free specials are also popular on this day. Mark your calendars now so you don’t miss the deals on Leap Year Day: Monday, February 29, 2016.
